Real Results for Scars and Texture
Acne scarring and uneven texture can be stubborn, often affecting your confidence long after the original breakouts have cleared. At the Empress Skin Scar Clinic, we specialise in visibly reducing these marks to restore a smoother, stronger complexion.
We use SkinPen Precision Microneedling, the first FDA-cleared device clinically proven to treat facial acne scars. It offers a powerful, non-surgical way to break down old scar tissue and firm the skin. If you are looking to smooth out pitting or improve general skin irregularities, our practitioners provide the clinical expertise needed to refine your skin’s surface safely and effectively.
Remodelling Skin from the Inside Out
To treat scarring effectively, we need to address the root cause: the way the skin healed previously. Scar tissue is essentially collagen that has formed in a fibrous, rigid pattern rather than a smooth mesh. SkinPen Precision allows us to break that rigid pattern and encourage the skin to repair itself properly from scratch.
The device works by creating thousands of controlled, microscopic channels in the dermis. This physical disruption breaks up the fibrous bands of tissue that often pull the skin downwards, causing the pitted or rolling appearance associated with scars. Simultaneously, this process triggers a natural biological response known as Collagen Induction Therapy.
Once these micro-channels are created, your body immediately perceives them as a signal to heal. It rushes blood and growth factors to the area, stimulating the production of fresh, healthy collagen and elastin. Over the following weeks, this new tissue fills in depressed areas from the bottom up, smoothing out irregularities and refining the overall surface texture. Because this process relies on natural healing rather than heat or chemicals, it is a safe and highly effective solution for all skin types.

Your Treatment Pathway
1
The Clinical Assessment
We start by analysing your skin texture and scar depth (for example, identifying ice-pick vs. rolling scars). This allows us to determine if SkinPen is the best tool for your specific needs. We usually recommend a course of 3 to 6 sessions to see the best reduction in scarring.
2
Precision Treatment
We apply a topical numbing cream to ensure the procedure is comfortable. Your practitioner then moves the SkinPen device over the scar tissue. The treatment is precise and hygienic, using a sterile, disposable cartridge. The actual microneedling takes about 30–60 minutes.
3
Recovery & Renewal
We apply a soothing hydrogel immediately after the session to calm the skin. You will experience some redness, but the repair process starts instantly. Over the next 4–6 weeks, the new collagen will mature, gradually softening the edges of your scars and improving overall tone.
Is Our Scar Clinic Service the Right Fit for You?
The Scar Clinic is designed for clients seeking significant improvements in skin texture without the downtime of invasive surgery or the risks associated with heat-based lasers. It is an excellent choice if you are dealing with atrophic acne scarring; such as ice-pick, boxcar, or rolling scars, or wish to soften the appearance of healed surgical scars. Beyond specific scarring, the treatment is highly effective for refining enlarged pores and smoothing out general unevenness and fine lines, resulting in a tighter, healthier-looking complexion.
While SkinPen is safe for all skin tones, there are specific conditions where treatment must be paused or avoided for your safety. We cannot perform the procedure if you have active, inflamed acne breakouts or open wounds; in these cases, we must wait for the skin to clear before treating the scars. Additionally, this service is not suitable if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, prone to keloid (raised) scarring, or have taken Isotretinoin (Roaccutane) within the last six months.

Maximising Your Results: Prep & Aftercare
Achieving the best possible outcome for your scar revision depends heavily on how you care for your skin before and after the procedure. Adhering to these guidelines ensures your safety and accelerates the natural remodelling process.
Pre-Treatment Guidelines:
-
Avoid the sun: Please do not use sunbeds or expose your face to strong direct sun for 2 weeks before treatment.
-
Pause actives: Stop using Retinol, AHAs (Glycolic/Lactic), and BHAs (Salicylic) 3–5 days beforehand to prevent irritation.
-
Arrive fresh: Come to the clinic with a clean face and no makeup.
Aftercare Protocol:
-
Expect redness: For the first 24 hours, your skin will look and feel like it has mild sunburn. This is a normal sign that the inflammation process has started.
-
Keep it simple: Do not wear makeup or sweat excessively (gym/saunas) for 24 hours. Use only the gentle, hydrating products we recommend.
-
SPF is non-negotiable: Your skin will be vulnerable to UV light. You must wear a high-factor SPF 50 daily once the initial 24-hour period has passed.
-
Let it flake: You might see some dry skin or flaking a few days later. Do not pick it; let the old skin shed naturally to reveal the new tissue underneath.
